She glanced out the fogged up window and thought about what had happened yesterday. Her friend's cousin's dog had died earlier in the day, and she couldn't help but wonder why, why had such a sweet, innocent dog died. She heard the distant tune of the ice-cream truck and reminisced about those days when she would run out with her little sister and buy a box of heart-shaped ice blocks. Nowadays, the tune made her sad because she had attempted to learn it on piano and failed.
She brought her attention back to her tutor work, and puzzled over the integration in front of her. Her friend nudged her and asked her what she had gotten for the question the teacher had set. She had no idea. She tentatively raised her hand and questioned the teacher about the problem. She could feel the whole class's eyes judging her for not knowing and in that moment, she felt incredibly stupid. The answer was relatively simple, anyone could have seen the answer to my problem.
Back at home later on that night, she did not feel like eating dinner as she felt nauseous from her stupidity from earlier on. Her mother urged her on, and she forced down the morsels of food bit by bit. The rest of her family was chatting happily whilst she was in her own world, wondering why she felt so isolated from everyone else at this happy table.
She excused herself and shut herself up in her room. She had to do work, she had to try hard as her report was horrible. It did her homework and asked for help an amazing number of times. Who knew trigonometry was so hard? She could tell that her boyfriend was losing his patience at her stupidity and she just felt like stabbing herself with scissors. "hello" her sister said as she stepped into her room. She hated her sister because her math work was so much easier. Year 4 maths was nothing to her anymore. She missed those days where maths was simple, where she could get away with getting things wrong because it was a time where you could improve, and the teacher was understanding and the tests were easy. She missed those days where you could ask stupid questions and no one in tutor would stare at you judgingly.
She missed her best friend. She missed texting until the early morning or late night or whatever you want to call it. Their friendship was fractured and she felt it could not be mended due to the people who had come between her and her best friend. She had gotten into a good school whilst her best friend had fallen in with the wrong crowd and was now a dropout. It was too late to ponder over these issues as she needed to get back on track with her studies because SHE NEEDED TO GO TO SLEEP.
kgoonight.
